Be Like Water

“Be like water, making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it.”

Water itself is the main menu for today’s article. We’re going to get deep into the ‘how to make sure you’re getting the best water into your glass and why it’s so vital to your health!

So spend a few minutes to align yourself with what your body craves.

Why do we all enjoy a walk on the beach?

People who live near or next to a body of water are 10 percent happier .

And that’s not all.

Researchers at the University of Exeter concluded that people living within a mile from the sea were 22 percent less likely to experience mental health disorders — such as anxiety and depression. Isn’t that incredible?

Proxiity to these “blue spaces” — as scientists call them — increases our happiness.

In his book ‘Blue Mind’ marine biologist, Wallace J. Nichols, calls the “immeasurable sense of peace that we feel around water” our “blue mind.”

His book gives great support for the ‘blue’ theory — but hey, we all know it, don’t we! It’s the simple normality of it makes it easy to take it for granted. And we all know there’s nothing quite like that feeling of drinking cold, clear water when you’re parched. ..or the sheer joy of plunging into a crystal clear pool on a humid day.

We need water.

We all accept that without water,  we can only live a matter of days — that’s how critically our body relies on water to survive.

We can get by without eating for weeks — so long as we’re drinking enough water.

There are many theories about exactly how much water we should be ingesting daily, from only drinking when you feel thirsty, to Mayo clinic’s recommendation of way more than that — as much as 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of water a day for men, and 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) a day for women.

We are not qualified to lay down the law on this, but of one thing we can be sure: long term sub-optimal hydration is a sure way to affect longevity. We can survive. One famous case in a Canadian psychiatric centre realted one elderly schizophrenic patient whose tissue was so dry that his routine shock treatment could not work. He was so dry that electricity could not penetrate him!

How to Choose Your Water:

Pure, mineral-rich, clean water offers incredible benefits for your body and mind. Here’s what you should be looking for in your drinking water:

  • It’s free of contaminants like fungi, viruses bacteria, cysts and parasites
  • It’s rich in essential minerals like magnesium, and calcium
  • It’s alkaline, which means it has a pH above 7 which supports the replenishment of our body’s natural alkaline buffer or storehouse.

Where to get the best quality water to nourish your body?

Not from your tap.

Where to Get Good Water

Spring Water

Spring water, sourced and stored safely, is in most cases, your best bet. This pure source of water, straight from Mother Earth herself, delivers so many vital minerals our bodies desperately crave.

Anyone who has had the experience of drinking right from a mountain spring or an ancient seep will tell you it is the best-tasting and most thirst-quenching water they’ve ever had.

To find a fresh spring near you is https://findaspring.com, with an extensive map of hot and cold springs all over the world.

Proviso: Not all spring water is this good. Unfortunately many of the modern contaminants like PFAs have seeped deep within the Earth and have combined with spring water, so it’s important to seek local knowledge before filling your trunk with water bottles!

Many people mistakenly think that like spring water, well water is a great, natural source of minerals too. While it’s true that well water does contain many minerals — if they’re the wrong kinds of minerals, the water can be very hard on our bodies. Again, well water can hold some very nasty contaminants. In rainforest regions, the constantly decaying vegetation can acidify water.

Well Water

Water from wells is sometimes actually called “hard” water because it has bubbled up through rock formations like limestone. In the process, the water takes on a higher amount of alkaline minerals than our body can handle. People who drink water from the wrong wells can develop dry hair and dull skin. On the other end of the scale, a study of almost 100,000 death certificates in Finland demonstrated that people who lived in harder water areas of Finland experienced better health and longevity. Go figure!

Tap Water

The water that most of us drink — tap water — is among the least nourishing.

Tap water can be full of hidden toxins. Even under current Environmental Protection Agency standards, tap water can contain trace levels of pesticides, harsh chemicals, aluminium, plastic, and heavy metals. The current list of possible tap water contaminants by the EPA stretches to 600, most of which have not been yet studied.

Tap water is treated with chlorine to kill bacteria. You know… chlorine — the same chemical added to public swimming pools to keep them looking clean. Small doses of chlorine are supposed to be harmless, new evidence that regular ingestion of chlorine can lead to gut complications… or even cancer. When organic matter is also present, chlorine can react with this matter to produce trihalomethanes, another nasty.

When people consume trihalomethanes at high levels over many years, they increase their risk of developing bladder cancer. Other health effects that may be associated with trihalomethanes include rectal and colon cancer, and adverse developmental and reproductive effects during pregnancy.

Tap water also contains fluoride.

Public health officials still claim that fluoridating water helps to protect tooth enamel, but later fluoride research actually reveals the opposite — fluoridated water causes dental fluorosis or discoloration of tooth enamel.

We now know that fluoride can calcify (or harden) the pineal gland in your brain.

Our pineal gland regulates sleep and hormones — and it’s long been linked to the idea of the “third eye” — a spiritual bridge that leads to higher states of enlightenment, inner wisdom, and intuition. How weird that drinking tap water may impede one’s spiritual ability and progress!

Drinking pure, natural spring water, or water that has filtered out the fluoride, may help to heal and soften our pineal glands… and expand our consciousness.

Water heals our bodies in so many other ways.

The Healing Power of Water

Water supports digestion.
It transports nutrients throughout the body.
It flushes bacteria through the kidneys and out of the bladder,
It carries oxygen to the cells,
It regulates our temperature,
It energizes muscles,
It helps the function of our organs,
It lubricates and cushions our joints and spinal cord… and that’s just the start!

Water scientist Masaru Emoto believed that water can heal us, and we can heal water. A radical, pioneering thinker, he conducted research on frozen water and found that it holds and responds to the energetic frequencies directed towards it.

His groundbreaking (and controversial) research claimed that water has the ability to copy and transfer information. Water exposed to violent, hateful messages tended to form fragmented, lopsided crystals.

If we direct loving, grateful vibrations towards the water we drink, the water responds by moving into symmetrical, beautiful patterns. Emoto believed that when we send these positive intentions towards our water, we can help to purify and energetically transform it.
Over ten years ago we sent a sample of our water to Dr Emoto and received a beautiful image of the water in frozen state.

Today there’s a whole new branch of water science in the addition of molecular hydrogen – H2 – to drinking water. The Molecular hydrogen Institute, a non-profit research website lists over 1000 separate studies on the beneficial effects of drinking h2 water.

Further, the Fourth Stage of water, another very interesting theory on how water acts in the body, presented by Dr Gerald Pollack, if it is in the right ‘fourth’ state, promises even more benefits to anyone drinking the right form of water.

Water absorbs infrared energy freely from the environment; it uses that energy to convert bulk water into liquid crystalline water (fourth phase water)—which we also call “exclusion zone” or “EZ” water because it profoundly excludes solutes.

So why not honour that sacred connection by hydrating your body — your personaltemple — with the purest, highest-quality water possible?
