Filter components
KDF 55 Effectively Filters Out:
- Chlorine: KDF 55 removes chlorine from water by converting it into harmless chloride ions.
- Heavy Metals: It reduces heavy metals such as lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium, and aluminium by bonding with these metals and trapping them within the media.
- Hydrogen Sulfide: KDF 55 eliminates hydrogen sulphide, which causes the rotten egg smell in the water.
- Microorganisms: While not a primary method for killing bacteria, KDF 55 inhibits the growth of bacteria, algae, and fungi within the filter.
- Iron: It reduces iron content, preventing staining and metallic taste.
- Scale: KDF 55 also helps in reducing scale buildup in pipes by converting calcium ions into calcium carbonate, which is less likely to form a hard scale.
KDF Formula 73 Filament Filters Out:
- Iron: KDF 73 is particularly effective at removing iron from water, converting soluble ferrous iron into insoluble ferric iron, which can then be filtered out.
- Hydrogen Sulfide: It removes hydrogen sulphide, which causes a rotten egg smell in water. The media oxidizes hydrogen sulphide into elemental sulphur, which is then filtered out.
- Heavy Metals: Similar to other KDF formulations, KDF 73 also helps reduce heavy metals such as lead, mercury, and arsenic from the water.
- Bacteria and Algae: KDF 73 inhibits the growth of bacteria, algae, and fungi within the filtration system, contributing to cleaner and safer water.
Virgin Crystal Quartz Filters Out:
- Sediment: Quartz is effective at trapping and removing physical particulates such as sand, dirt, and silt from water, improving water clarity.
- Turbidity: The fine crystalline structure of quartz helps reduce turbidity (cloudiness) in water by capturing suspended particles.
- Organic Matter: It can filter out some organic materials like algae and other small plant matter that might be present in the water.
- Heavy Metals (to some extent): quartz may aid in reducing some heavy metals by trapping particulates, though it’s not a primary mechanism for heavy metal removal.
- Water Energization: Virgin Crystal Quartz has the ability to “energize” or “revitalize” water.
MAXIMIZING PLANT GROWTH
Rainshower Garden Grow is a dechlorinating garden water filter that maximizes plant growth by removing the toxic effects of chlorine from garden hose water. Garden Grow helps create a healthy garden environment for both plants and ladybugs to thrive.
Garden Grow also uses quartz crystals to aid plants in the absorption of nutrients. An easy, “no tool” installation makes Rainshower Garden Grow the filter choice for all horticulturists and garden enthusiasts.
Benefits

Protects ladybugs and other beneficial garden insects | Australian hose fittings |
More about the Hose Filter
For over twenty years Rainshower has preached to its USA Garden Grow buyers that their soil is alive with microorganisms that maintain the fertility of their garden’s ecosystem. That ecosystem also maximizes the disease resistance of your plants. That ecosystem is threatened by the use of toxic chlorine. Free chlorine (CL2) cannot tell the difference between harmful pathogenic bacteria and the beneficial bacteria in your garden’s soil. Any commercial nursery will understand how important your soil’s ecosystem to your garden. They will agree with Rainshower that it needs to be protected. Rainshower Garden Grow keeps your plants healthier by removing the chlorine that kills beneficial bacteria in your garden soil.
